The night had been brutal but all battles had ended in their favour. Few stood a chance against Daredevil or Spider-Man on their own, let alone teamed up. It had been an accidental pairing; Peter had literally swung straight into Matt as he was in mid-leap. The situation had ended rather gracelessly and with a few bruises, but that had been the least of their worries. The two worked efficiently and Matt’s focus was more than enough to counteract Peter’s endless quips. When the sun began to rise and their muscles started aching, the two decided to turn in for the night. Matt’s apartment was closer; it was only a decision of convenience. Neither were too bothered about secret identities; they’d been known long ago. After swinging in through Matt’s unlatched window, they peeled their slightly tattered costumes from their skin. Articles of clothing were left strewn across the floor with a few assorted weapons scattered about. Matt directed Peter in the direction of the couch and mumbled something incoherently about pillows before collapsing face-down onto his bed. Peter, evidently not too thrilled about crashing anywhere but a bed, simply fell on top of the older man and pulled the covers up over them. It wasn’t the comfiest position in the world—Matt’s face was buried dangerously far into his pillow and Peter curled around him from the top—but it was good enough for them.
